Hello all Western Ontario hunters!
I am looking for info on hunting opportunities in the Dryden area. Are there any birds (Grouse, Partridge, etc.) to be hunted? What types of birds are there? Any help would be great, as I am thinking of relocating to this area...
Cheers,
Deerwood

We also have a tricky little fellow called a Woodcock.
Lots of other hunting opportunities around Dryden ....Moose, deer, bear, wolves, geese, ducks etc., etc....

lots of ruffed and spruce grouse especially in peak years- but the numbers vary from year to year depending especially on how wet the spring has been. In over 25 years i've only ever seen 1 pair of sharptails though. Agree with dumbdawg and thekeepa it's a great hunting and fishing area - only problem is too many hunters at times...

north of eton rugby, amesdale, and saw a couple on the fort end of the 502. I've never seen that many sharptails.

I didn't go out much for Partridges this year 'cause I thought their numbers were so small, especially at the first of the season(didn't see many while getting my winter firewood). But my neighbour and one of his buddies would mostly limit out hunting on the back roads east of Eton Rugby and east of Dinorwic .
Like JohnC I have hunted lots south and west of Dryden...shot lots of partridges and moose over the years in that area .
What didya think of the Quartz mine , JohnC ?
