590 vs 590 A1

Whats the difference between the 2 shotguns? Is the A1 stamped A1, or is it just a certain set-up of a 590?

My A1 is stamped "M590A1" on the side of the reciever.

They sold for around the 500.00 mark about a year and a half ago when I bought mine.....but they have gone up since then....seen them at several shops from 650 up to 800 bucks. Depends where it is i think.

An A1 is stamped 590A1.

If memory serves I paid about $560 in october for my 590A1 with ghost ring sights, 20"bbl, 8or9 rd mag tube from Wholesale sports.

The maximum any Mossberg takes is 8+1, so 9 in total. I don't know if your trigger/safety assembly is metal, as from what I know, only the Mossberg #51663, 590A1 has that. Also has the thicker barrel and the bayo lug.

a pet peeve is when someone lists a 590 for sale on the EE with no pics and doesnt specify what model - there are like a dozen different variations/configurations of 'Mossberg 590'.

That explains it. And yeah its 8+1, 9 total. But it does have the full metal trigger guard and trigger too.
