Hey everyone,
I'm just wondering what some of the time frames were like for your first restricted purchases from when you sent the money to when it was in your hands.

This is not a question of process. Just a poll I guess on how long it took.

I sent the money for my first on Wednesday the 9th. I'm realistically not expecting it in my hands until early January. If it comes sooner, great.

But for me, so far it's been 5 days and counting.

You?

Ordered mine on Monday and received it on Friday and as far as I know,...

None of my references or my wife was called. Really.

What? References don't get called when you purchase a firearm? Only when you apply for your firearms license?

How in the hell did you get it that fast?!

The CFO told me because it's my first restricted, it could take up to 25 days, but will most likely be around 21 (three weeks). (to transfer the handgun into my name, that is. That's without shipping and all that jazz).
THEN I have to apply for my ATT to get it to the range.

No idea how long that'll take.

My first restricted was a beretta I bought from target sports. Bought it on a friday and it took less than a week for my Temporary ATT to take it home. More recently I bought a Ruger SR9 from target sports on Saturday, and took it home the following wednesday.

Bought it on a Tuesday, picked it up that Friday.
I understand that it depends if you are buying from a business or a private deal. Private takes longer due to the transfer.

Bought my new 1911 on a Saturday and received my temporary ATT for pickup on Friday the following week. Should not take more than 10 days. Mine have usually been 5 to 10 working days. Hope yours comes through quickly.

First was a Ruger New Mod single six Dealer dropped it off at local PD , picked it up the same day . No gun club membership ,No trigger lock , No secure locking container , Just put the gun in a bag & through it on the seat of my truck & drove home along with a brick of ammo in the same bag . And not a single person was harmed .
Course that was 30 yrs ago .

still got that Ruger too !

My first was back in August and took ... uh... 3 days... I paid on a Sunday. The store sent it all in "first-thing" on a Monday, and my paperwork came back on Wednesday... It actually took another couple of days for me to get the time to go into the shop and pick it up, as I'd been expecting longer...

I actually asked about it, because it was so fast, and was told that Firearms Canada has been very speedy lately, and the shop guys were all quite impressed...

NAA.

Well, I'll be giving them a call tomorrow (i assume they're closed saturday sunday like most government offices) and light a fire under their butts slash double check how long it will take.

As much as I would have loved to buy a brand new pistol, no one had what I needed and I found a better deal used. I guess dealers and stores get faster processing.
I don't mind waiting a few days for the att, I just want my pistol in my hands now. I'm so impatient..

My first was this march. it took about 3 weeks because:
i wasted 1 week till i registered at a gun club and then the seller could initiate the transfer
once the transfer was initiated, SQ mailed me the ATT form. I filled it and sent it back to them.
only then it was processed, and finally shipped to my place.

only problem:
on the package it said SIGNATURE REQUIRED, but it was left at my door!
