Aimpoint C8 problem

So I've got a friend over in A'Stan who's got a peculiar problem that I'd like to help him with, hopefully with the help of someone here. Ok here it is: he's got a C8 with a RAS II, aimpoint, and aimpoint 3x magnifier. He's got the aimpoint mounted on the RAS's hump with this mount: http://www.botachtactical.com/ai30xri.html
For the 3x, he's got this mount: http://www.botachtactical.com/aimpoint1.html
The problem is, it won't fit on the C8's rail, he said the cross bolt is too big to fit inbetween the rail slots. Note that he had this exact setup at home on a civvie AR and everything fit together properly, so is the only conclusion that the C8 rail is out of whack? If it is out of whack, is there any way to get the 3x on with a different mount that I can get and send him? I've thought of maybe a larue, with its adjustability, but it would still have those two notches underneath. Maybe a riser, and then a different mount for the aimpoint as well? I just don't want to waste time and money sending him something that's not any better. Any thoughts are welcome.
oh p.s.- he doesn't care about the 3x flipping up and down, he said he'd be happy to just leave it up for the most part.
 
Got to love the Canadian use of non-picatinny rails. Not sure about how the "cross bolt" looks on that, but I've seen Larue EO Tech mounts made to fit by a sympathetic gun plumber shaving just a bit off the base to allow it to fit.
 
CF uppers are weaver

You need to shave off abit of metal on the cross bolt to fit "please dont file your upper, it will get you charged"
 
I highly doubt the C8 's rail is out of spec more likely the mount is where the issue is the CF doesn't buy Airsoft RAS's for there guns
 
I think the issue is that he has the model for picatinny, and the C8 is weaver rails (pretty sure that's right, but it could be vice versa).

Either way, before dropping some coin, your friend, depending on where he is, should go see either a Mat Tech, a Weapons Tech, or even the mechanics at his location, to see if they can just shave a bit off the cross bolt.

Picattiny is 5.232 mm, weaver is 4.572 mm.
 
Just a question,why didn't he try them at the armory before deployment?
I'm sure they would have had C8's on hand.
Are Diemaco's that different to the Colt M4?

Diemaco puts the M4 to shame in quality and design "we dont have the same jamming issues the yanks have"

We do use weaver but very few countrys had flat top back then" I wish we change over on the C7A2 so we would not be the only country using it lol.
 
Well, that's an easy solution, thanks everyone for the speedy responses. I'll run that by him, thanks. Hopefully that ####less issue gerber's file will last long enough to shave the bolt down a bit, I'm guessing he likely doesn't have all the support guys handy...

us support guys are in every FOB and KAF. he should be GTG
