For $320 USD, I would like to try before I buy. Or atleast hear from some people on there like or dis-likes on this model. As I already have the FAB recoil reducing buffer stock but this one folds and reduces felt recoil.
 
Pretty decent stock. It isn't inline though and thats a beef for me.

I don't buy the recoil reducing buffertube idea though... I find much better control is gained from a good brake and a proper stance. Plus the effectiveness of the recoil reducing feature is slain by the fact its not inline...
 
IMHO it would be much more effective to wait out... get an in-line stock... and spend the money you save on a break and AMMO... shooting your rifle and getting used to dealing with the recoil is much more important than the "recoil reducing" accessories you put on it. (Maybe excluding a good break)
 
I'd take the folder knuckle.. The rest is garbage. Once you chopped & rewelded the stock thread in-line it'd be ok. As-is I don't know what they were thinking.

Built well, built wrong?
 
the one without the recoil reducer is incredibly sweet. well though out, has just enough droop to allow use of iron sights, and folds parrallel to the bore, just missing the charging handle. I don't know about the recoil reducer but I don't think I'd like it.
 
to further my last, anyone running the CAA butt stock? I'd like some input before I get it ie. Includes all you need, ease of install, application to firing etc. Thanks.

There is nothing made by CAA that isn't done either more affordably or better by FAB.

The actual buttstock is take it or leave it. I personally like the CTR/MOE and some guys like the FAB one cause its quite heavy duty and offers a wide butpad.

everyone wants to have an inline stock, but on a 58, that prohibits use of Irons so I don't see it as an option.

The MultiHeight adapter will place the stock parallel to the bore but at a variety of stock heights. Control is increased and you can use a variety of stock lengths to square out your stance etc.

Stock adapters should be ready for sale in a couple weeks.

The actual buttstock is take it or leave it. I personally like the CTR/MOE and some guys like the FAB one cause its quite heavy duty and offers a wide butpad.

I wasn't sure what CTR/MOE buttstock was until I googled it and Magpul came up. I see now what you're talking about, but I was referring more to the tube itself without the "buffer/recoil" feature, which I think is what CAA is offering and I'd like feedback on, or any other aftermarket collapsible stock that doesn't have a spring in it. I'll echo the sentiment on proper firing position/hold and maybe a muzzle break to deal with recoil and jump rather than dampening the system. Anything out there?

Their buffer tube/receiver extension is just a standard collapsible unit, nothing special, it works.
 
Man I'd be down with just having the factory original wood/plastic stock. Mine came with the factory folder and I want both!

yeas it is not inline, and is slightly angled downwards to give a sightline for irons. This is the problem with this gun, you need a different stock for the irons, then another if you want a red dot or scope. Wait for the multi height adaper. It will fix all this nonesense.
