Anyone who runs around with SKS, VZ, or M14 for that matter, is obviously NOT LE/MIL.

And IMHO, the risk they would be engaged is much higher.

So in your theory having an AR would allow you to blend in with LE/MIL?
Its an interesting theory but I for one would not be 'running around'. To average sheeple a scary gun is a scary gun. So being engaged would be the person who is dumb enough to run around with a gun deserving of being engaged by LE/MIL.
On a second note a M14 or SKS are non res. firearms so its not so bad. But if you bring out the AR which is restricted then SHTF in a bad way and there probably wouldnt be any LE/MIL to engage you right?
On a second note, if they bad guys ( thugs - gangs ect ) think this way then they either think dude with and AR looking weapon is probably a LEO, is this going to put you in a higher risk of being engaged?
Just my .02

?? I still don;t get it.

Use an AR to do what?
Shoot the Cops? Shoot Protesters?

A firearm could/would be used to protect your family or yourself -from grievous injury or death -if there are no other means possible.
Not kill people because you don't like what they are doing.

protect your business from a mob that is willing to destroy it. I know the koreans in these videos kinda took it overboard but check the other video posted above.

#1 after the riots in LA when all had calmed down, guess who had the only diapers and milk for sale in that neighborhood?
#2 the store was thier lively hood and probably for 2 or 3 Korean families.
#3 the Koreans were probably from a military background since its mandatory that they serve

SHTF comes in all diffrent shapes and you have to take a stand at some point, is it worth getting sprayed by a Mac 10 to protect your produce? some say yes some say no. but either way there comes a time to pull out the gun and say here is the line. Hell thousands were slaughtered in South Africa in the 80's by a "pissed off minority". Most were machete'd to death or burnt alive.

It is a business.?
Let it burn, Get away.

My idea of a SHTF is alot more serious than some pissed of minority group.

REFERRING TO THE VIDEO ABOVE. people are going crazy looting and burning every store out there and yours is next. Its become a complete WROL(without rule of law) scenario you're gonna tell me that you wont protect whats yours?

^a gun can also be used to scare potential looters you know. It can also save your business you worked all your life to build.

Sorry, I am not going to blow someone away for a head of lettuce or that fine pair of Levis I got stocked on the shelf........

It's hard to know exactly where to draw the line. Although it's not a good idea to trivialize the life any human (even a thief's) it's at least equally foolish to trivialize the shopkeeper's loss. If you won't stop thieves, there's no point in having a store - ANY store. You like having stores, right? I sure wouldn't like to have to find, make or inherit every possession I own, so I would have to say that I like stores. And I think it's okay that throughout history a few thieves had to die so that we could have them.

Of course, civilization isn't on the line every time a teenager tries shoplifting for the first time, but IMHO, those store owners were right, in that particular situation, to up the ante and defend their property rights. Even if that meant lethal force might be needed.

Me either but when a bunch of angry guys enter your store with no other reason then to the smash/break/burn everything and are possibly armed then what? They are not just grabbing a few things and running. Everything they destroy YOU would have to replace yourself and if the store is damaged then YOU have to repair it......thats alot of $ espically when you rely on that money your making from that store to survive.

Factor in the down time too. The cost of the store not bringing in any money for the next few months because of renovations might bring you closer to bankruptcy and if several families depend on that income to make ends meet I can see how it can make people take up arms to protect their livelihood.

Factor in the down time? Repair costs?

So Monetary loss or possible monetary loss = The right to kill
Preventing wasting your time fixing something = Mow them down with an AR
