I finaly got to try out the Polytech M14S it was fun and shot better than I thought it would. My re-loads with 168g Amax's printed one group under 1" for 5 shots all ov the groups averaged just under 1 1/2" and I didn't have to do a bunch of load work up. I am using 42g IMR4895 wih CCI primers and Winchester brass. I am planning to do some work to the gal but hell she is shooting around 1" groups and that is pretty dam good for this kind of rifle. i guess I got a keeper with my first try.

Yup 168 was the sweet bullet for my M14s. It hated anything lighter and mildly complained about anything higher. Each rifle is diffrent, the fun part is finding her favorite grain.

168gr bullet is absolutely fine for the M14 platform since the M118 and M118LR special ball cartridge were both designed for the m14,m21,m24 and m40a1 rifles and the bullet weight is 173gr.

I was planning to tear her all apart and just use the action to build a 260 Rem. But she is shooting the 308's pretty good. So now it looks like I am going to have to go buy another to build my project gun on. Oh well like I really need to have an excuse to go buy another rife.
