Picked up my SVT-40 today from the postoffice and it looks great. it is a 1940 Tula with a small stock repair. overall I am very happy with the deal from Trade Ex with the great service and fast shipping:D

Picked mine up today. Good stuff.

I ordered 3. One from each Arsenal. I received exactly that. Another satisfied customer.

There are three major differences between this batch and the previous. The older orders had a "plum" coloured refurbished bolt. The new ones are more "gold" in colour. The second difference is the DE09 on the receiver near the date and arsenal. The third difference is with the trigger. The previous ones had a lighter trigger on average. The triggers on this last batch are still clean and good, but they are heavier. -Update: triggers seem the same, the Cosmoline must have been cold when I first tried them-

You never know what you're going to get with these orders. With the previous orders I had a Tula 1940 with an incorrect muzzle brake. It had the 2 ports instead of the 6. Everything else was good. With this new order the Ishevsk 1941 came with the incorrect muzzle brake. No big deal but worth noting.

All three have the correct SVT-40 stocks. no AVT replacements. Arsenal repaired stocks, although some of the repairs were difficult to see/find.

The Tula has really nice looking darker and kind of blotchy wood. Looks very good. I like it. The other two have your regular colouring for the stocks.

I figure if you've read this far you are really interested in these rifles. . So here's the interesting thing:

The 1941 Kovrov has an extra pin in the rear near the receiver. But more interestingly is the fact that there are (4) x marks on the stock left and high of the serial number. The letter X isn't in the serial number for this rifle. After looking up as much as I can, I think this must have been to X out a previous serial number.

Sorry only have a cell phone. I know the picture sucks.

Hmmmm,

The 1941 Tula came with a mag which looked very slightly different than the others. Looking online, it's a SVT-38 mag not a SVT-40. Locks in fine, but not the right mag for the rifle. Wonder if it will make a difference.

i wonder how available svt-40 slings are...

epoxy7, you say you ordered 3 (one from each arsenal) did you pay for this. Anthony wouldn't let me pick anything?

I couldn't pick anything either. I asked for one from each if possible and if not so be it. No promises were made and it was made very clear that they couldn't go through and hand pick for me. For example if I had my pick I wouldn't have chosen one with the incorrect muzzle brake. For all I know the different arsenals could have been a fluke. For $300 It was well worth it. I paid $450-500 for the previous hand picked ones from another company. So this wasn't really a concern.
