Need some Feedback.

Ever since I was kid I have wanted to have a pair of twin pistols and after trying almost every type of pistol out in the last year, 1911's are the way to go for me.... I already have a higher end unit (desert warrior) so now I want to get some toys to beat around with. I was thinking a dual shoulder rig with twin 1911A1's like Bruce Willis uses in "Last Man Standing".

And before it starts, YES, I do know that I cant push a guy out of a bar and half way across the street with them, like he does in the movie.... hahahaha. I just like the idea of using two at once.

I just wanted to know if anyone has opinions on the entry level, A1 type units that are out there. I have played with an Auto Ordnance 1911A1 but i think that I will go with some Springfield GI's (or Mil-Spec) or maybe some Para GI Experts.

What are your thoughts? Or is there another options out there that I'm not aware of????

Thanks for your time.

Gord.

I think you'd be served very well by a set of Springfield GI's, to tell you the truth - you may want to have a look at STI Spartans as well, though.

In before someone jumps on him for the lack of training value in shooting two pistols at once - some people shoot for fun.

Forget the Para.

Auto Ord or Springer GI's would do.

Or a pair of Spartans.

You could always start with a pair of Armco tuned Norc 1911A1's and go from there....;)

NAA.

theultimate matched pair would be a set of randalls in a set of holsters from somebody like pacific canvas and leather- they make mirror images

The ones from Face/Off would be a pure custom job; try contacting someone in Guadalajara ;)

As for the duel 1911 setup, I would suggest the SA mil-spec or GI's. I have a friend that owns an AO 1911 and regretted it up until the day he sold it. Found it was just riddled with problems...though I do love the green park job on their GI style 1911.

Or maybe you can luck out and find a couple Colts ;). One can hope, can't they??

Hey I was also watching Last Man Standing several days ago! Every time I watch it I want a double shoulder rig on me, too.

The guns for this have to be G.I. models. I can't imagine "modern" 1911s in this set up (I mean those with forward serrations, beavertail, target sights and ambi-safeties).

I think it is more difficult to get a quality double vertical shoulder rig than finding a pair of G.I. 1911s!

Thanks Pavehammer,

Your right, this is strickly a fun project. Dont get me wrong, I take my time at the range very seriously and all drills and training type shooting is done with the Warrior. Its my go to unit, and I dont want to put it through what I intend to put the pair of GI's through.... I mean the more fun it is, the worse it tends to be on the gun......

They will be loved, but it will be hard love.;)
