Interesting. The belt would have to be limited to 5 rounds however. Its not a Kalashnikov action, so i dont think it would be automtically prohib, for example the RPD( which is only prohib because it would be 12.3). The experts will have to field this one, im stumped.

Wrong. PKM on that list refers to a Polish(?) AK variant.

There is no belt limit 5rds is for mags only "a belt is not a mag"

Belts for pre-1945 designs are exempt from the 5 round limit, whereas post-1945 designs are not. The law is ambiguous when it comes to disintegrating link belts; it isn't entirely clear whether one link counts as one feeding device holding one round or whether several rounds linked together consist of a belt.

The PKM uses the same belt as the Goryunov SG-43, which was developed in 1943. I think the Russian Maxim can use the same belts, but I'm not sure.

Calling a PKM an AK variant is a stretch. They were both designed by Kalashnikov and have a gas operated rotating bolt, but that's it.

Like Say a Aksm-81 or something.

Uhm..My memory could be flawed, but I'm pretty sure that those particular inanities, were passed under the Kim Campbell, and hence Conservative, justice department in Bill C-17.
