$100,000 worth of rifles.

A little presumptious, no?
Not presumptuous, elitist maybe even snobbish perhaps and I am entirely unrepentant about it. ;)

But my remarks are no more presumptuous than the declaration of "more money than brains" and other dismissive observations made by several posters here. I can't afford a Miller nor would I want one if I could but I understand why they are worth the price and don't resent those who can afford them.

Maybe I'm just not intellectually capable of appreciating them, but when I see a title like '$100,000 worth of rifles' I'm expecting a pic of about 50 rifles :p :D

Naturally when something a little more refined is posted here the usual chorus of the impoverished comes forth to dismiss and deride a firearm that is beyond their reach both financially and intellectually.

It is like trying to explain Renoir to someone whose idea of fine art is a velvet Elvis.

For those who understand no explanation is necessary.

For those who cannot no explanation is sufficient.

Well said.

I could never understand the thinking of those who resent others who can appreciate and afford the finer things in life.

The same mindset who will "key" a vintage sports car because they know they will never own one.

Why, you can still shoot anything you want with a lot less money and still kill a deer.

The whole point of those guns is to buy them if you can afford them...not that they do anything any other gun wouldn't do....

Once again...if the haters on here #####ing about the price HAD millions of dollars they'd be the first in line to buy one of these...and why the hell wouldn't you:D

It's all relative. If you own a few hundred oil fields then 100k is just about $10. Look at Royal Holland and Holland in New York and London in the UK. Some are 248k.

Using a Rolls Royce as a 4 by 4 is nothing if you make a billion plus a year. It's all relative.

This guy gets it

No, your viewpoint is flawed because you presume that having wealth means you are willing to piss money away. I know several very, very wealthy people and you would never guess that they are exceptionally rich. They don't drive Lamborghinis or Bentleys, they don't live in the most expensive houses, don't wear $20,000 watches etc etc. There are just as many valid reasons, actually probably more, to not buy them as there are to buy them; It doesn't mean you are poor, redneck or ignorant.

I'm acquainted with several very wealthy people and some of them flaunt it and others don't. One I know has many fine guns on the same scale as the Miller rifles and above. Another shoots nothing but average grade Winchesters. The second man does however have a Gulfstream jet to take him and his Winchesters wherever he wants to go. ;)

Oh no, no, no. Tell him there is a really well priced alternative to the Gulfstream: the Antonov AN-2. It's just as good. Trust me.

I trust you but the Gulfstream owner is an ultra-right wing guy from Colorado. He's still fighting the cold war. The mere mention of anything Russian wouldn't go over well.

I know a few wealthy guys as well...they both own a large filter manufacturing company. One drives a 2005 Chev 3500 the other a 90ish chev stepside. They dress like normal guys, act like normal guys.

One of them happens to be a musician...he has a basement vault (think gun room) full of vintage Martin D-28's, D-18's, Gibson J-45 ect....it's his hobby.

We are all gun enthusiasts here...you dont think that this being your major hobby you wouldn't spurge on something like that?

Either way..it's not a big deal. :)
