6mm berger vld loads ?

Gooday all,

I just recently bought some berger 6mm 95gr vld bullets to try out.
I have manufactured some very successful loads in the past with other bullets and weights but I have heard that these vld's are fussy little guys when it comes to seating depth. Im just wondering if anyone else here has direct experience with these types of bullets and if there is any common denominator, so to speak that makes them shoot. What are your experiences and advice?

My Berger 105's like to be jammed into the lands anywhere from .010-.020.

Berger suggests trying them jumped up to .120 in .040 increments, some locals tried this but were not as successful as jamming them.

Sorry for the newb question, when you say jammed into the lands your COL is actually longer than your measure OAL of your chamber? Does it cause a tight bolt load?

It means that the bullet extends .010-.020 past the point of the ogive contacting the lands. (Many ways posted here on CGN to determine your "to the lands" measurement).

This does cause a slight resistance but nothing you would notice as a hard bolt close.

I seat mine just touching the lands. Works best for my rifle but your mileage may vary. Start with Berger's recommendations and go from there. There are guys here with TONS more experience in precision shooting so take my advice with a grain of salt.
