Seekins mag 3.94

Stephen,

How about this set up? It is a Badger M5 for the 338Lapua/RUM in a Manners.

I am going to sell it.

Like us, Badger uses the Accuracy international mags, so yours will be identical in length to what we offer. From experience the 338 Edge does not function well from the AI mags.
The only thing we have found that feeds reliably for the 338 edge is HS Precision mags.

I have a rem700 action ready to go for this biuld so I would like to stick with the .534 rim Dia. I just ordered a couple of progessive twist barrels from Ron Smith. :dancingbanana:

Anyone know what Remington is doing with their 700 338 lapua action? Are they using a standard anction and using a sako style extracter on the bolt?

They thinned out the bolt by opening up the boltface to the point that if there is .030 still around the headstamp I would be surprised ( I have not measured 1 but it IS thin) they incorporated the M16 style extractor which in my opinion kinda compromises their "3 rings of steel" quite significantly. And they used HS bottom metal in order to get around that pesky lacking of feed rails that is then required to make a FAT cartridge fit through a thin action.

Personally I beleive if they had wanted to do it right, they would have increased the actions overall diameter as well as increased their bolts diameter.Having been building 338 lapua and 338LAIs for several years now
it is quite apparent that wider actions are required, hence we are making our actions larger in all dimensions to properly accomdate this increaseingly popular caliber.
