Thinking of purchasing a Kimber PRO CDP II used and the seller provided the following pic, on the Kimber site the grip does not have this hump (see red arrow) that this used pistol has, seller claims 3 months old less than 50 rounds through it... What do you think is this an older CDP? I'm trying to get a pic of the other side of the pistol so I can hopefully see the serial number.

I've heard of the FTF and FTE problems with pre-break in Kimbers but I have also heard GREAT things about post-break in Kimbers so I am willing to give it a try.

Thanks
Don

That hump is an arched main spring housing. If the stock gun does not have the hump, it uses a flat housing instead. They can be changed easily, you could ask if the owner changed it or what the story is about the non-standard housing on a supposedly almost new pistol.

Looks to me like a Smith & Alexander MSH / magwell, they come in arched and flat configurations, it would'nt be a deal breaker for me as you could easily flog it on the EE if you didn't like it and replace it with a standard one.

Is this the same guy that is selling it on another site for $850?
Why is a new $1400 firearm selling for so little?
Let us know how it goes.

The pic shows a gun with a PROHIBITED barrel length. The CDP's imported into Canada have a barrel that sticks out somewhat (6 to 10mm)and is not flush with the end. That is NOT an actual pic of one legally imported or registered in Canada. Beware!! SCAM!!!

Interesting... http://www.firearmscanada.com/sell/ near the bottom of the page, this person is giving me some bad signs I think I am going to bail. This person claims to be in CALGARY and I am in REGINA... it's all too creepy for me.

So this is the second time in a week that I have contacted someone about the purchase of a used handgun and the second time that things turned out to be seriously sketchy...

I am trying to find a decent deal on a KIMBER or a NIGHTHAWK so I will just keep looking.

Thanks Everyone:rockOn:

What do you consider a decent deal?

TSE list Knighthawks. Shooters Choice lists Kimbers. Cabelas Canada lists Kimbers. Whole Sale Sports lists Kimbers.

Send Gunnar at ARMco your wish list, perhaps he can snag you a good deal

Good deal?

Nighthawk Predator II CDN$1250
Kimber PRO CDP II CDN$850

Those are pretty good deals, the phrase "too good to be true" applies, sigh, how sad.

I have begun the task of shopping for my first 1911 but this time I'm looking at new, so my sub 2k budget is going to be somewhat limiting, nighthawk is out of the question for now unless lottery winnings are in my near future... LOL

Thanks for everything guys... SAVED AGAIN...

+1 on 'Good deal', I'd say that's impossible. I just got my 1st 1911 (delivered today, actually) off EE: an almost-new STI Trojan with FO front sight & RecoilMaster for just under $1K shipped. IMO, that's a good deal - the ones you quote are more like 'keep on dreaming'...

Good luck with your 1st one, man!

Whatch out for guns on the firearms canada site, lots of frauds there. I've delt with 4 so far (1400$ Springfield super match, 1200$ Wilson combat, 900$ chrome STI edge....)

Yeah I won't be going back to that site, way too sketchy, I even found a guy "IN" my city that wouldn't meet with me when I suggested a meeting at my pistol club. NUTZ
