Finally figured out how to hit the broad side of the barn with my mini-14. Stand INSIDE the barn when firing. Hope this helps others who are trying to sight in this wild piece.

MY Ruger Mini 14 range rifle shoots 1/2 MOA at 100 using Nosler 32gr SP and scoped Leupold VX11 targ. Dot reticle 6-18x40mm. CONSTANTLY...and +/- one MOA at 200.

With 0.5 inch at 100 yards and 1 inch grouping at 200 yards (or I read it wrong, +/- should indicate 2 inches at 200 instead), I should trade my bolt action .223 for a mini ranch rifle any time. This can be a serious contender for other super accurate equipment (I shall say though operator is to be considered an important factor in those kind of achievements).

First time out with Mini 14T 55gr PMC and all well sub 1 MOA - that is till the damper worked loose... Ruger suggests finger tight, think next range trip that will translate to 30" pounds (and blue loctite is in the range bag JIC).

Got one in 6X45.
Shoots 1/2' @100yds. I can flip the gophers over forward or backwards out to 250. And I am not that great of a shot.....

Mini 14 love it

I dont know why everyone #####es about these guns, they arent that bad.
I have one, and it is not that bad. I am very happy with it.

I agree 100%. I love my T version and have had good luck with previous Ranch and factory folder as well. Many people, however do not do well with open sights and a slightly heavy trigger. This is not an indication of the potential accuracy of the gun, just the jerk of the trigger or behind the trigger. You decide. Good luck and of course.... more practice! My T version is still for sale though. Got bit by the damm tacticool bug. Must have Tavor. Crap.
