Is the .410 allowed for Turkey hunting?

Not permissible in ON.

However, I noted on a different forum - somebody arguing vehemently that he has seen that done outside Ontario so I just wondered how authentic that statement may have been :).

i have shot groundhogs with number 4 shot at 10 yards with a full choke 410 and it kills them dead on the spot . it would work on a turkey at very short range but i have no information on the legality of other provinces.

177 pellet to the head of a turkey at 10 yards would kill him too. Still not a smart thing to do.

The 410 is equally as powerful, just way less pellets, however on still targets I am way more successful with my 410 than my 20 or 12 and at longer ranges. Mind you I never use a 12 for still targets ( no turkeys here) and my 20 doesn't have an extra full choke. 410s do tend to be over choked.
