I'm in the market for an AR-15. I'm not sure which name to
go with or where to buy one from. If anybody has any
insight on this matter, I would greatly appreciate it.

Stag
Armalite
RRA
LMT
Daniel defense
Colt
KAC
HK
Remington

KAC - top of the crop
HK & Colt for the dicerning tastes
All others are pretty much green apples & red apples, all depends on your tastes.

Then there are a few with gas pistons.

I recommend you do some searching in the Black rifle forum for pro's and con's, too many to describe in a post.

Thanks, forgot them. Norinco is the Kraft Dinner of AR-15, but still tasty with Ketchup ;)

Also forgot: CMMG, part of the red & green apples, also Spikes (but no opinion on them)

There are probably close to 40 AR makers in the US and Canada. Only a couple in Canda....ATR and DLASK. ATR is more custom and DLASK is one of the apples. DLASKARMS dot com

Or be proud of your country and buy something made in Canada.

I'm a proud Canadian but I ain't buyin an AR from here...Diemaco/CC is my exception!

For a first timer, I'd go with an LMT or Stag. Great rifles. If you have the cash KAC is the cat's ass.

Forgot Noveske...one of the designer brands for those with good taste.

If you live anywhere near Alberta:

In Calgary you can check out Alberta Tactical, they machine there own lowers and use Billet uppers. I just love the fact that it is engraved " Alberta Tactical Riffle, Calgary Alberta." and have a maple leaf on the side.

thank you to all that replied and shared
their info. I was in the CDN Forces RCD.
I just miss firing my C7A2 supplied by Colt.
Looking for the next best thing...

What happened to Bushmaster?

Wow, I am getting old, actually there are so many options now it's hard to remember all of them. As far as Bushmaster, I should know, I have one

Sucking up to KB :D

No need to, but I owe him credit for bringing me to CGN when it was still an infant, at that time ARFcom was the place for fun toys.
I have been buying KAC accessories for many years now and they are the cat's meow, if I could I would buy one of the E3's.

LMT is what I'd recommend, as I've had great experience with them. But depending on how you plan on using it, you'd probably be just as happy with any of the aforementioned manufacturers.
