Elk Pic in current BC Outdoors mag

To each their own. What I find disrespectful/obscene/etcetera maybe be what you find obviously a-ok and normal. The flip is also true. Why people would even ##### about something like this really makes me laugh. Getting all worked up over dead meat. Go press your personal values elsewhere. Isn't that how wars get rolling?

Noel said some people have higher standards. None of this is directed towards Noel by the way. However I think to put it more accurately would be to say, some people have different standards. And who is one person to say another persons standards are wrong. Would you be happy if someone told you how to raise your kid? Would you be indifferent about another man telling you how to paint your house, how to cut your grass?

This world needs more people minding their own business and doing their own thing. This woman sitting on her kill, doing whatever she might like to do on it, should really have no bearing on you. I really laughed about the threats of violence made over this, boot up the ass, hah. Try it. You might as well get on board with Wendy and start taking more of our guns away. You have the same base attitude, directed towards a different medium.

That pretty much sums up my opnion on this.

I have been ripped on for wearing camo and not wearing camo in the same season by different guys. Which ones were right? Same ####e, different pile.

Doesn't offend me.
For myself, I've never shot something I couldn't hold the head up from the side, but if that was the only way I could lift it up for a good shot, sure why not sit like that?
Also, as far as offensive, disrespectful, etc, everyone ripping on her personal appearance is a pretty big D-bag in my personal, slightly humble opinion. I'm sure you're all prize pigs with waxed chests and chiseled abs though, so it's ok for you to make fun of a girl you know nothing more about than that she shot an elk and sat on it.

Wow, maybe I'd best not show pics of us holding our geese. maybe they should all be laid out gently on a blanket of roses and mourned over.....ya right!!! Good lord find something else to ##### about. Be glad for the woman, not jealous because she probably hammered a bigger one than you. Grow up!!:nest:

My thoughts exactly!! If all you have to ##### about is this pic, than get a life. What about when it comes time to butcher the elk. Are you going to cry my knife is not sharp enough and say it's disrespectful. And disrespectful to who anyhow???? The dead animal??? Some weird people here with weird ideas.:jerkit:

Yup, I agree, different standards would have been a better way to say it for sure.

I decided these are great pics. I took one yesterday just for this thread.

Hahaha. Good one.

Riden, one day when Moose evolve this is how they will set you up for thier kill pic, face down in the dirt. Note how I did not remove my computer moniter of the cutting fluid bottle from the back ground. I just didn't take time to clean up for the pic.......

I give you five gold stars for the moose, congrats!:)
The pic however could have been done much better.

Posted this pic before of my Great Uncle with his moose and 250 savage. I actually don't mind this one, taken December 1933. He has the head lifted and cleaned off and even though he is resting on it's shoulder you can tell he took the time and has respect for the animal.

We had to wrestle this guy for 15 minutes to get him in position but it turned into a great pic and was worth the effort IMO.

When a photo emphasises the fact that they killed the animal, rather than hunted it, it irritates me. This would be the photo of a deer flopped into a pickup box or hanging in the shop, rather than in the field.

Looks bad, makes antis more passionate about their cause, and is easy to avoid.

The pic in question ain't so bad.

A guy who takes (and posts) pictures of a bloody severed head on a tailgate feels someone's trophy elk picture is in poor taste??
Then he's disrespectful about a stranger's weight...?
TEN PAGES OF DISCUSSION??? I just want my 15 minutes back...
