Perfect VZ58/CZ 858 chest rigs

Does anyone have any experience with the TACO HSGI mag pouches sold by wheelers? Im wondering if they will fit in a VZ58 mag but i dont see any reason they shouldnt.

Don't pay much for a rig and you won't get much... The Eagle Rig is a pretty good unit for playing with the 58.

I've paid $300, $400, & $500+ for complete rigs. You get what you pay for.

Im well aware you often get what you pay for, but not all of us need a mil-spec chest rig for noodling around in the back forty or a range session.

The voodoo will be plenty for me even at a measly $40.

One of the 58 chest pouches I use is from Marstar (Tactical Nylon Battle Rifle Chest Pouch) and cost $13. It works for pete's sake. I also have CPGear stuff, but these pouches fit into a range bag.

So long as the mags fit the rig will do its job.

If you want to do some movement though that is when you test the effectiveness. The reason the eagle unit is so nice is that it has a divider in the pouches so that when you pull out one mag the second stays put, also the mags stay put with the flaps open when you're running, jumping, pepper potting touching your toes whatever. I think I paid $65 for mine new, on the net somewhere.

I guess the way I see it why would you want to use a chest rig if you're not gonna be active?

I didn't say that you HAD to spend hundreds on a rig.. but if you're just looking for something to stuff mags in then get a good dump pouch.

Just saying that if you pay $40 for a rig, you're getting a $40 rig.. and if that's all you want, there's better alternatives.

Anyone using this one?

Each of the 4 mag pouches holds THREE ak47 mags

I like to move fast and be sleek, as I am a bigger guy. This unit is bulky and not sufficient as it only hold mags,

???

We have had a huge number of guys running these overseas. Under the arms are two utility pouches with MOLLE on the outside. Usually added is two smoke, two pistol and two frag.

It allows you to carry AK, CZ, AR or M14 mags.

Support Canadian business and buy the MoFOCR rig from CPGEAR.

We are a Canadian company and a CGN supporter. I started the company because most other companies at the time were not supporting the end user. No one stocked gear or carried anything combat related.

I found these in the U.S. and spoke with Farmboy about bringing these in, They are made by VOODOO Tactical, exact copy of the old chinese AK chest rigs. Same quality as the SKS Chest rig he sells. These have wide straps, all quick release buckles And steel D rings. Each cell is rubber/vinyl lined and has drain holes.

As said we will be adding these to our regularly stocked items.

With VooDoo it's the same quality as Blackhawk, 5.11 and similar makes.

Im not sure how much Farmboy will sell for but he is usually on par and matches U.S. prices on everything Ive bought from him, I paid about the same for these as I paid for the voodoo SKS rigs farmboy sells. Expect to pay around $30 to $40 plus shipping which in my opinion are pretty good for my needs.

Again as said above, we try our best to keep everything close to exchange rate.

In the meantime if you are running a MOLLE rig here are some pouches that work great for AR, CZ, AK, M14

I got one for my buddy to go with his VZ-58. Each pouch fits 2xVZ mags and the whole rig is MOLLE.

Thast a great idea as long as you just looking for somthing cheap, have you seen any of the CP gear??
I sure hope no one is taking that stuff to the sand box.

Agreed.

I do however agree with Niokon (however its spelled) that its good to have your gear close to you. Although I do think that the rig sold by Farmboy is a really good piece of kit, its not something I would personally wear because a) I have no need to carry 16 mags at this time and b) because getting in and out of civi vehicles can be a bit of a snag. I have some funny stories about that :p.

I am gonna try the new HSGI TACO mag pouches belt mounted and see how they fit. Ill let everyone know how that goes. That and they can also be used for .223 mags.

Does anyone make/have 3/4 pouches for VZ mags? I want to be able to put my mags bullets and up grab them from the top part so I don't have to flip the mag or hold it low.

Its faster to draw and insert in the gun. IMO.

I carry my mags like that in this rig:

Who makes those pouches?

No problem having the second mag come out with the first one?

PS.
Do you have any pics of it being worn? If not could you take some? :p

Cheers,
