Welcome from one a little south and east of you.
Glad to have you aboard.
Any special interests?
And as a heads up from transplanted Albertan:
Be prepared to post pictures!!

I presume hunting pics ?

I usually hunt spring and fall ......mostly for the table ....not much sporting

love the big bores

I shoot Winchester 375 H&H, Ruger 338 Winchester Mag, Ruger #1 416 Rigby ...and a host of smaller stuff

Not necessarily hunting pictures, although they are great.
I just love the North and enjoy re-visiting it vicariously through the pictures folks post.
You are in an area many of us would like to visit or re-visit.
Take care.

Oh man THANKS for those! What sort of rig is that you are driving?

Back in 97 I went up the Dempster, but it turned so foggy you could hardly see past the nose of the truck, and with the rain that round topped road turned muddy and rather on the slippery side. I ended up not going all the way to Inuvik and turned around before the first ferry across the McKenzie. That was in early August. The day before was lovely and sunny on the way up to Eagle Plains and woke up to drizzle the next morning and it just got worse.

What time of year is that snow storm? Looks mean to me.

I remember seeing a few ptarmigan along the road and where the road doubled as an airstrip in one spot. Pretty darn neat if you ask me. You are one lucky bugger to live up there....I bet you don't have any of those gangs you hear us talk about down here. ;)

PS. When I say I love Canada, this is what I am talking about. The natural beauty of this country is amazing when you get to he** away from the crazy cities.

When I say I hate Kanada, it is the lefties and Lieberals to which I am referring.

Thanks for the pics of the ferry crossings....I could not recall the name of Peel River.

I suspect that you are pretty much the lone vehicle on the ferry due to weight?

Although I turned around on my way up the Dempster just inside the NWT boundary before I got to the river crossings, I did cross the Yokon River on my way from Chicken Alaska to Dawson City YK. It was a new experience for me since we only have bridges around here. The crew were great. Back when my father was a kid there used to be a local ferry crossing of the St. Lawrence.

Any time you feel up to posting pics, by all means please do so. :D

Welcome aboard. Those are some great pics! I've always thought I'd like to transfer to the Yukon for a couple of years before I retire. Those pics are making me think more seriously about it!
