Tavor TAR21 LOP reduction idea...

So I've been thinking about adding this to our Tavor line of accessories that will be launched this year (starting at SHOT )

What kind of market is there for a replacement but plate/but pad for the Tavor that would reduce length of pull by ~1" making total LOP about 14.75"?

It would not be rubberized but it would be checkered.

I'd really like to make it out of polymer but that means that a certain volume needs to be made to justify the mold cost otherwise it could be made of aluminum.

Whats the verdict?

Reduced LOP sounds good, can you make two kinds, polymer and aluminum, that way people can choose what would work better for them.

So I'm guessing the stock LOP is around 15.75"? I will have to see how my tavor feels for me when I finally get y grubby hands on it.

Now that's funny! That being said, I have not held a Tavor yet, so I am trying to picture how you guys will reduce the LOP by 1 inch... Isn't the butt "plate" of the Tavor the "hatch" that you access the internals through??? You guys planning on making a "thinner" hatch???

Yea that would be ideal but when you get into molds for polymers, rubbers etc there needs to be a healthy volume to justify the costs.

Definitely polymer. If it could be designed with a rubber pad I'd be in for two.

Ya on second thought I'd only want one that had some serious grip on my shoulder. How that is done (rubber or really aggressive pattern in the aluminum) does not matter so much although rubber is preferred.... does the butt plate from the X95 fit by any chance???

FWIW the X95 uses such a buttplate. It is checker plastic.

Correct, totally different dimensions, but the same mounting/function design.

If you shoot wearing a vest/carrier all the LOP reduction you can get is good.

It still has the steel reinforcement moulded in? I can not see plastic alone surviving the recoil.
