Enfield sniper value

BSA, LB or other maker? No.32 Mk. I,II or III scope? Maker of the scope? No.8 scope can or rubber boot? Leather strap on can? Matched scope to bracket to rifle? No.15 or No.7 chest? The accessories are nice? WWI dated sling?

There is a baseline for No.4T rifles that goes up in multiples depending on the other factors.

How about for this one?...

Let me jump in on this thread if I may with the following in pursuit of an estimated value on a different rifle:

'44 BSA No. 4 (T)
No. 32 Mk. III scope - made by CTS - scope not matched to rifle, but scope matched to mount
No. 8 scope can (not sure if it's matched to anything)
Kerr NoBuckle type leather sling, no markings visible
No other kit

Thanks.

as Nobody has given much of an answer for the rifle in question, I would suggest the baseline for a British made No4(T) with mismatched scope and no other accessories and in reasonably good condition would likely hit about the $1600 range. As Maple Leaf points out there are a lot of other factors that are going to affect that too.

$1600 is a bit low.

Rifle about $1.1k
Scope $1k
Scope can $.3k

So I am thinking about $2400 even if mismatched. A fully matched one has got to be at least $3500 these days.

OK I HAVE TO ASK;
How much for my Long Branch, all matching, exc+ overall, all accessories in the transit case?

Johnone: does this happen to be coming from Greece and/or does it have a warehouse full of brothers/sisters as well?

Even some of those prices are wholesale. The $1100 for a rifle is right on the money. A scope, without the mount, will run $1200 to 2K on fleabay. An original mount will fetch $500-800, and the can will see $400 to 800, varying on condition. A mismatched set should be mid to high $2000 range and into the $3000 range. An all matching with the chest and scope case should be around $4500 nowadays. Of course, condition is everything, but the sum of the parts makes the whole seem like a bargain.

One would expect to see $6000 minimum for an all Canadian set. Could run up to $8K if pristine. Seems like a number have been showing up in the last few years. Might well be a generation of collectors is passing the torch, and thanks to the internet, the cream is getting recognized.

If I had a pristine, all correct with complete kit, Long Branch No4 T, I wouldn't let it go for $8000. They are tough to find as it is and even tougher in described condition. A rifle like that is an investment, you would double your money on it in 5-6 years. Maybe less.

As with any milsurp rifle, but especially with no4(T)s, any prices given today, while appearing high, will be the prices you will dream about and wish you could find tomorrow.

By the way, I did have a fairly nice matching LB (T), but sold it to finance a much bigger rifle purchase. The problem I felt with the 90L batch of LB snipers is that they were made up for British contract, and were also technically post war. Instead I chose to keep a British made but C/l\ marked no4mk1(T) sniper for my collection.

The rifle came without scope or bracket, so I had to be satisfied with this one for now, which was numbered 3 digits out.

I'll take as many as you can get me at that price ... :D

Sort of similar question here, what's an L42 worth? I know there are quite a few in the US but I haven't seen one here, and don't remember ever having seen one in Canada, although Navy Arms imported them into the US and they used to do some business here.
