Remington ACR SHOT Show Video - ---LEAKED!!

Im looking forward to getting my hands on one of these to try it out before I would consider buying one. I am a little concerned about the removable barrel, will any play develop? How secure is the mounts........people went to free float for the AR's for a reason. What I do really like is the forward charging handle as well as the bolt release location and the stock. Time will tell how these stack up.

Looks alot like one those MASADA rifles. I'd get the .308 barrel if it was non-restricted. But, that wishful thinking, considering i been waiting for a Robinson .308 version(or something like it) since pre-historic times.

True but the barrel may not always reseat in the same place every time you lock it in. Also since the hand gaurds a removable, how much play or flex do they have? "mounting PEQs" I know RASs are pretty bad for flexing and not holding zeros.

I think we have reached a point where most new weapons are not really that much better then what they are trying to replace.

I bet a complete AR upper could be had cheaper than a spare ACR or SCAR barrel, at least in the commercial market before they are making 100K units a year for the military.

I just saw another problem with the gun :( The forward cocking handle is in the hand guard area. So if you mount a forward sight or PEQ/flash light it will block the cocking handle or clutter it.

For a civi or LE gun its very sweet, but for a military gun it is not up to beating the AR series

I think the SCAR already has that problem with optics mounted on the upper receiver for optics with a wide base like Eotechs.

I didn't have a chance to read this whole thread but I'm I the only one who found it funny that in the first video at 2min20sec when the "team" is in a stack getting ready to enter that building the second guy in the stack knees the first guy in the butt? Is this the new "go time signal"? Kind of funny

Couldn't you just mount the flashlight on the other side of the rifle?

Or you can just mount the light more forward or lower in the 7 o clock position.

Very nice and interesting rifle, but I won't waste one little bit of sleep over it. Because I know that, even though it's made mostly out of plastic, Remington is going to price it as if it was made out of solid gold. By the time we get it, if we ever get it, it is going to be priced in the same class as the Swiss Arms CQB or worst! :(

Would it though? The Remington AR's seem reasonably priced... I think the NR label goes a long way to upping the price we pay up here.

magpull did a good job on that, remington it just the factory makign them.
This hapens all the tiem in the gun world.
the bolt carrier looks alot like my hk g36 but then the g36 carrier looked alot like the SA80 i shot in the army.
I think it will be an improvment over the DGI AR15,S
But i think the piston drive ar15 will br around for along time, and will take over from DGI long beore any major army gos with somthing like the ACR or FN SACR.

Weeeeeeeooooo 6.5 grendel. Good to hear

Sorry to rain on the parade. But that video is quite old and unfortunately outdated. I saw it on Vimeo over the summer.

This article is from November 2009

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/11/01/remington-is-not-developing-a-6-5mm-round/

We are not currently in the process of developing our own 6.5mm round for the AR platform. We have mentioned the 6.5 in our communications on the ACR simply because that platform is capable of handling the Grendel or something like it. At this point, there are no plans to chamber the ACR for the Grendel. However, that may change if we receive enough input from the marketplace to make it seem necessary.

I would love to see the Grendel in the ACR but it doesn't appear to be coming. At least not yet. Having said that, the ACR is supposed to take the 7.62x39mm Russian round with a barrel, bolt and lower conversion and that is not listed on their webpage.
