Marks on bolt

I just got a new 9mm AR and the bolt has some marks on the top. Is this normal? They look a bit like locating marks but I'm not sure.

I bought it new and my friend got the same model as well. They both arrived with the same marks on the bolt.

BTW EVAN THE CDN you would really have to strike hard to mark both, the idea of those stakings is to simply prevent the screws from getting out of their respective holes.

It's a RRA and looks pretty similar to their example.

How about Damaco...er ....Colt Canada...they do the same thing to the same thing part on CF bolts.

Yes, those are RRA stakings. They use a tool to compress the sides of the key toward the screws.

Always stake your key. Otherwise, it WILL come off.

Necessary. Done by any AR manufacturer worth their salt. Go shoot it.
