HK SL7 Anyone have or seen one?

Nice rifle, as long as you don't plan on reloading your brass...

And no, I'm not talking about the little marks left on the casing by the flutting of the chambers... I'm talking about trying to find your empties that have been ejected out of this world, and removing the dent made by the ejection port on said brass (if you find them)

Might be easier to find a HK770, I've seen a few of them show up over the last year.

Mike.

There was a HK SL7 for sale in Quesnel a few years ago. Nicely built but as mentioned it's a hunting rifle, not a black rifle.

What is the maximum I should be paying for one of the HK SL6 (non restricted version) ??? I have one lined up, just want to negotiate the price and shipping...

Please, time sensitive...

I have an SL7. It's a quality rifle.
Mine is a 'Canadian' version with a slightly longer barrel = non restricted. I remember seeing them advertised in a Century arms catalog. I don't know if a Canadian version (non restricted)of the SL6 (same rifle - .223) was ever available.
I have some HK catalogs somewhere showing the rifles and some of the accessories.
I seem to recall an insert that was available as an extra that could be fitted into a recess that you would have carved out of the underside of the buttstock. I think it held a cleaning kit and a few spare rounds.
Some rifles had ventilated handguards, some non. Don't know why they had both types - maybe the slotted ones had the same issues as the M14 slotted handguards?
I have only seen a few SL7's for sale over the last 10 years. I think the cheapest one was $1000. Accessories such as extra mags can be expensive.
As far as performance goes I have never had any problems, but then again I have to admit that I have not shot mine much, just enough to do some hunting with.

The SL6 I am looking at getting has a 48cm barrel, vs the typical 45cm... the difference between non restricted and restricted. Anyway, I am able to get it shipped to me for just over $1400 CAD (coming from outside of Canada) with one 10 round mag... according to some posts on here it will make it only the 5th one to be registered in Canada (not sure if the others are restricted though). I will be going ahead with it, as I doubt I can do better... I am attempting to make a little collection: HK 270, HK SL6, and HK SL7.

Is that like the Valmet Hunter is only worth $1,500 ? I have never seen one for sale in Canada or the US for that much...

What is the current willing buyer/willing seller value?

I haven't seen a SL7 for sale in the last 5 years... sold for $1000 with one magazine and no scope mount...

The "hunting" version (HK770) are more common... again, they usually go for $1000-$1500 depending on condition and accessories.

As far the Valmets are concerned... Unless we get rid of the silly firearm classification scheme, I doubt they'll be comming down in price any time soon... Because if you want to be able to shoot something with 'that' action, it's the only game in town... and they ain't making any more.
