I'm considring getting into .50 cal extreme range shooting at some point in the future, but have no Idea where you find .50 cal ammo in Canada. Anyone got a link or know a retailer that import$ it??:sniper:

I wish I could help with the Candian side of this post, but I have to mention, I saw 100's OF ROUNDS of 50BMG packed in 10 packs in the NAPA store 3 days ago......thats right...the local NAPA sells the guns in Williston ND.

Cheap too...$58 for 10 rounds of 650gr (i think...or 680gr?)

Anyways...good luck to yah! I think most guys reload it though. There was a supplier of the parts here as a CGN sponsor, not sure if he still does it or not.

ATRS (Alberta Tactical Rifle) I think? Could be wrong, I know he builds the rifles.

Monitor the Equipment Exchange. From time to time I've seen sellers ads offering Canadian military ammunition components sold as scrap. Loaded .50cal ball is not going to give you the same satisfaction (accuracy-wise, not bang-wise) as handloads. But that is taking on another set of challenges!

"....50 cal ammo..." Expensive stuff. $11 or $15 a shot from Alberta Tactical. That's not banditry either. PMC runs about $12 a shot.
Reloading is an option. Requires a special press though. Then you get to hunt down bullets. Alberta Tactical lists the press and components, but not inexpensive. .50 cal rifles are serious big kid toys. Can't shoot 'em at just any range either.

Where do you plan to shoot your .50cal?

Well it seems you have given me a few options and access to some match grade ammo.
I currently have only one .50 BMG NATO standard cartridge, but at $4.50 U.S. it doesnt look like the sort of bullet to fly 2000 yards and hit anything smaller that a buick. I had hoped this wasnt the sort of round I was doomed to use in my future .50. and thank god for small favors it's not going to be. Thanks alot for the info guys.:D
