Russian SKS45 long thread.

...I think this gun is superb and a very good priced rifle -- bright shiny bore, not many dings/scratches, and came with good condition accessories. I wonder if anyone else who ordered from Lever Arms also had forced stampings on the the side of the mag, as the bottoms had been covered up by the pin job.

Right on! I'd say you did well and can thank your lucky stars. It's like you hand picked your SKS, like I did mine.

No complaints from me regarding the magazine pin job. It is ugly but more functional, IMO because over-enthusiastic reloading will not bend the follower arm in this type of pinning.

Well I hate to say I told ya so,but it looks like I'm right on the pinning of the new IZH shipment. AKA frankenpinned!!

How are the new ones pinned? (I've apparently missed something somewhere)

Frankenpinned makes me think its not nice like the first IZH, and somehow Uglier than the Bells

Yup same way of pinning as the Bell's,Lever's and Westrifles' .........

Guys to pin it in different way it has to be approved at government level as I talked to one of my supplier. Any ideas in terms of videos, blue prints, websites showing how to pin, anything that I can see and pass to them for review would be appreciated. I know it is not the prettiest way to pin, but it is the only one available at the moment. It will take time to change.

PS as for this thread. Can I say only s@#t it is long

The IZH Impex way was approved. Why not contact the CFC and see what they'll allow.

This is the way to do it. Job done by a licensed gunsmith familiar with firearms regulations.

I have been getting a little bored waiting for the next shipment, so I ended up picking up a few pea shooters to fill in the time between my SKS open sight tactical shoots.....

Are they here yet?

Gommee you don't have to wait I brought limited quantity in already.

It is easy got to www.westrifle.com and pick up one or two. You can also send me an email at order@westrifle.com

I am a collector, all of the ones I have are pinned properly. I do not bother with butchered goods. Until I find out the pinning method, I am going to sit back and watch the show.

Ok you could have just said that you are a collector and looking for something without frankpinned mags. I will have some later this year, but not at the moment. Those will still be butcher in some way because of 5 rounds requirement. Will do my best. I have to follow all the rules and regulation. Plus I have to keep cost down as much as possible.

Thank you.

No offense meant, Butchering the mag on a 60 year old firearm is just wrong!
