I am considering rebarreling one of my M700 300 RUMs. I want to rebarrel and chamber in 7mm Rem Mag. What are my options to convert this action (and specifically the wide action feed rails for the RUM case) to one that properly feed 7mm Rem mag ammo? Can the action be modified or is a DBM kit required ? What are my options ?

I am considerin the kwik clip. Curious as to how the same mag is advertised to work for both 30-06 cases and the 7RM and 300WM belted mags ?

It's a single stack magazine and a bit slow to load but it works well for a hunting rifle. Yes, the same magazine for the standard 06 size cases and the standard short magnum cases. Not for the 300 Wby or H & H length.

I once owned a Rem 700 in 338 RUM that fed 7 Rem Mags and 300 Win Mags without a problem..try it before you start buying parts.

Well I'll be. The RUM action (due to the staggered feed folllower) seems to hold and feed a belted mag just fine (I tried a 300 Win mag)! That M700 action is such a well designed piece of kit! I will add, I confirmed some time ago that this action also feeds WSM cartridges without any apparent hitch. Lot's of options....Hmmm...long action, mag fed, long seated VLD's + 7WSM, or ......?

Thanks

it may feed even better with a regular mag box without the cut outs in the sides...
