hello all

i was wondering if anybody has bought the sks see through scope mount, the one that is an easy install it just replaces the rear bolt cover has 1inch rings on it and you can still see the iron sights. was just wondering the quality and if you like them or would reccomend this product.

thanks for your help

Those cover scope mounts are junk and lose there zero.

Ether go with a scout scope mount "which mount on the rear sight base or drill and tap the reciever for a SVD style scope mount.

But before you do that, what kind of sks do you have ? "dont want to bubba an all matching gun ;)"

I think I have the mount you're talking about. It came with it when I bought it used. I like it well enough. I've only shot it to 100yds though and most of the time it's quite closer when I use it in 3-gun matches. I don't know about "losing zero"... it's not like an SKS and cheapo surplus ammo is going to be tack driving in any case. The "see-through" option turned out quite well in one 3-gun match where the stage was "turn off/cover all optics" and I could sail through with my iron sights.

I have one that is fine and does not loose zero. It has set screws on the side so it cannot move around. Granted I have the scope up front right now. I got mine from marstar and have had no issues with it. Only down side is the scope is way up in the air and a cheek piece is a must.

Some rear cover mounts work well and do not lose zero. I tried out a mount and rear cover, with a dismal Leapers scope courtesy of Satain, last Sunday.

Satain shot it to show it was zeroed at 200 meters. Removed the rear cover, re-installed, before I shot it. I hit the 200 meter gong 3 out of 5 tries. I'd say that is a good mount....can't say the same about the Leapers scope although 3 of 5 ain't bad.

I hope Satain chimes in with his rig's details.

BTW, Nice SKS Spenom, definitely like the snow camo.
