If they make these in 9mm, why the hell not in .45 acp

Looking at review of the HK usc. Not a big fan of the space age look though.

Doing a USC to UMP conversion can make it look a little less silly (That is what im doing) but you are looking at 3500 to 4500 dollars without the cost of mags, and depending on what you want to do.

Like I am probably going to keep the 16" barrel on mine, but I have the UMP lower, and am working on an AR15 stock block adapter for it, so I can use my Magpul CTR.

ETA

The USC is a VERY reliable carbine, and its very light and pointable too.

I'd give my left nut for one of the 10mm MP5s produced for the FBI. Too bad it's prohib AND unobtainium...

If they weren't prohibited you could at LEAST do the conversion to 10mm. I think the 40 S&W ones can be reamed out to 10mm spec, but you have the remove the barrel and then re-press it in. Then the right locking piece.

10mm is a great round, lots of power to it. Too bad it never really caught on.

Yeah, I know. It's quite a superior cartridge over both the common service calibers. Despite the substantial facts, and using the 'con' that it's "harder to train proficiency" as a crutch, it's been sideswiped. It's perplexing. Must be politics, man, fcuking politics...

One thing about the Fallout video games that's pretty awesome, is the mainline pre-war era caliber is 10mm. Not to mention many other technologies that were concepted, but never fell through in reality (i.e, fission powered cars).

Anyway, going off topic there, but point being I would like to see a decent subcarbine be redesigned to chamber the 10mm or one made from scratch exclusive to the caliber.

I think it would be really cool to re-chamber a .40 cal USC/UMP into 10mm Auto. I dont know if the .40 mags would work, or if you'd need to mess with .45 mags and close the feed lips.

Its got the length of the bolt to cycle, and can easily handle +p rounds.
