Anyone have a misquito?how are they, are they worth the money, reliable, etc.
thinking of buying one,so any info would be great, thanks.

You'll hear lots and lots of complaints, but mine has worked very well since day one provided you feed it the proper ammo.

I still own it, but all things considered, you'd probably be better off bying a Ruger Mark 3 or a conversion kit for what you have in a larger caliber.

Ive put about 500 rounds through mine. First two mags were cheap winchester stuff and the loose spring, worked perfectly. After the second mag I couldnt get the cheap ammo to feed or eject anymore. Since then I've only used CCI mini mags and have never had any issues.

I had one and if you used CCI mini mags it worked great but anything else seem to be a problem it was real fuzzy. Since then have purchased a CZ Kadet and Browning Buckmark Contour and would recommend either one with no reservations. The Kadet is pricey but the Buck Mark Contour was less then the sig misquito. CCI were never available in my area and I am looking at cheap ammo for the .22 that is why I bought it to shoot 500 rounds for less then $25.00.

The reason why we go to .22 because want to kill some more time in the range for less cost. Mini mag on the other hand is not inexpensive, it is about the same cost that you reload 9mm. A Gun can feed only one line of ammo is a joke, you want to pay a Sig money, you should expect a Sig quality but...

I have one and I love it, I have used only cci ammo in it and not had one problem in over 1500 rounds, not one!!! I say buy it you won't regret it, but make sure you get one of the newer generation ones.

I bought a used Sport from the EE and have put aprox 300 rounds through it. Mini Mags and Stingers work best but I have had pretty good luck with the Winchester black box and the Fed bulk have been ok.

The gun is a ton of fun and a good shooter, when the weather gets better it will see a lot more use. the only advice I can give you is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I clean mine after each time out.

I had an early one that jammed even with minimags. Very flimsy gun built with pot metal.

Got rid of it and bought a 4.5" slab barrelled Ruger 22/45. With the ultimate clip loader to assist in loading mags, now I'm laughing!!

Ruger 22/45 all the way

I have to time to fire 3 mags while the guys next to me with is mosquito is trying to clear the jams from is first Mag.

and My 22/45 will even fire sand and rock without jamming

I dont see why someone would want to buy a Sig Mosquito other then for the look or to train to be "world champion Jam clearer"

I just purchased an M Sport and it's very good and bad.
Good: Looks, feel ( although small ), accuracy, ease of use.
Bad: Cheaply built, jams, comes with one mag and extras are $75!, likes specific ammo.

I used CCI MM's and Stingers, both worked about the same. I didn't get through more than 2 mags in a row without a jam or the slide not going all the way forward after a shot. I already polished the feed ramp and next I'm going to fix the entry of the chamber because it's not even perfectly round !! I can't believe Sig would even put their name on these things. I knew about the problems but bought it thinking I could fix most of them. It's more for showing first timers how to handle and shoot a pistol before I hand them any of my good stuff.

Update: After doing a few mods, it's working better. These things should probably be done by a gunsmith but I figured I'd do it myself. Feed ramp polish job and removal of metal lip at the top of the ramp. Soft 22 bullets get cought-up on that lip and cause jams. Plus I polished the inside of the chamber because it's too tight. Also the stock magazine needed a good clean and silicon spray.

Update ( again ) : The mods worked and the gun was flawless today. Fired at least 200 rounds with ZERO problems ! This time I even tried a few cheapo rounds ( bulk pack stuff from Federal , Winchester and Remington ), they all worked great. Now I really like this gun.
