i was wondering if anyone could help me out,
i know someone that has a smith and wesson model 59 and has a barrel length of 102mm, this makes it prohib, i cant find a barrel that is long enough to make it 105+ (restricted) is there anyone that has run into this problem and found a solution to it?
thanks in advance for any help.

There used to be 5" bbls. for the gun, but I haven't seen any advertised recently. I sent my Model 39 to Barry Jensen at Bits of Pieces. He made a 107mm barrel for it and re-registered it as "restricted".

check with questar if my memory serves me correct there were some 106mm barsto barrels available at one point

This problem arose with some pistols here in Australia when they introduced minimum barrel lengths a few years ago. For such minor barrel extensions a lot of poeple had their gunsmith silver solder a little bit onto the end and notify firearms registry the barrel length had been extended.

This was before I started shooting and is just what I have been told. My understanding is as long as a decent gunsmith did it then there was no problems.

No go in Canada. Has to be rifling (I remember this when I asked if I could weld a FH to a Beretta Storm).

I got the same information as G37 did. I asked CFC a while back about extending a barrel by brazing an extension on, and was told that only a handgun barrel of length greater than 105mm with rifling from chamber to muzzle is legal.
