Building AK-47 furnature for an 858.

Also, try Romanian furniture. Here was my attempt.

Any chance you could share a pic of the connection between the new wood butt and the reciever, and how you connected it without using a furrule?

I will snap a pic later on once the next coat of stain dries, but in essence, I just used a longer bolt of the same thread type (bought from home depot), and mounted the stock flush to the reciever. All I did was take the furrule out of the picture, as all it does is add an extra layer of protection from twisting. From what I can feel, there is absolutley no movement of the stock, but I will bring it to the range and fire a few hundred shots to make sure that it still does not move. If it does, then I will go back to the drawing board, but if it stays absolutley rock solid, I will sell them without the notch for the furrule.

thread locked with loctite? :)

As a side note, the AK cocking handle is milled as part of the bolt carrier. You could have to get it built and welded onto a 58 carrier. Several members have already done that.

Funny you mentioned that. I was already starting work on that! Finished another thing, which was to get a website running to help me keep track of stuff. See my sigline.

the only other stock that I thought was neat was a little thumb hole fore end that I believe was on that Shrink that Krink thread. I tried searching for it but no luck! though, I'm interested in one of these sets when ever you get it up an running. Put me on a list or something!

It's a pretty easy modification to the handle.. I've made several that shape for left-side carriers from scratch. It'd be a lot easier modding the existing right side handle.

Shoot me your carrier and I'll do it at no charge, just cover shipping, It'd look good with your AK wood.
