Hey just looking for a round that would keep the noise level down on my CZ 452 Lux for up at my cottage. I want to do some plinking and pest control and have been looking at the CCI CB Long and Remington Cbee LR. Has anyone ever tried this ammunition? How is it out to about 30 yards for accuracy? I want something that is going to make my .22 sound like a magnum air rifle give or take. Thanks

Aguila .22 Super Colibri is super-quiet ammo that does not contain gun powder but fires from the force of the primer only. Powerful and silent, great for use in urban areas. This is a 20-grain bullet in a brass case. Will break glass and penetrate hard tin cans. Velocity is 500 fps (11 foot-pounds) at the muzzle and can be lethal.

CCI CB longs and shorts should work fine. Also try Remington Subsonics. They dont't make the crack of a 22 and reduce the noise abit.

The CCI CB's are very good. I know that the shorts are just as loud as the longs and they seem to perform exactly the same, so get the longs unless you were going to use them in a gun that takes shorts only.
The point of impact is different for a CB than a standard or high velocity .22 long rifle. I have sighted in my rifle with high velocity, then when I use CB's I hold over where the thin part of the post in the scope meets the thicker part. If you don't want to hold over, then you will have to re sight the rifle.

I shot a few Remington CBee's in the urban area from my window for pest control, had a backstop & all, very safe shooting. My only concern was disturbing my neighbours. But it never happened, they never heard a thing from the little investigation I made.
It's a trucated 32gr HP with notches to make it open even more at low velocity, the bullets looks like the Yellow Jackets + the additional notches. They are rated at 740fps I think.

I use the Super Colbri. In a rifle they sound very much like an air rifle. A regular brass case, a short 20 gr bullet and lots of primer for power. No powder.
We shoot pop cans at 10-15 yards with no problem.
The little bullet would not go very far, so is safer than say a full power sub sonic round, but the latter would probably be more accurate.
Colbri comes in two flavours, Regular and Super. regular would work in a handgun, but the bullet would probably not make it out of a rifle barrel.

any target ammo will have very low noise level. Your best friend is a background noise, not how quiet your ammo is. Your ammo has to be powerful and accurate, not a pip-squeak like cb long or other pussy-loaded shift. Also, if you are planning on regular shooting, even quietest 22 will be making enough noise disturbance anyway, let alone low practical value of such training. If all you want is to dispatch some occasional pests then you better have accurate ammo and sighted-in gun and fire one shot at the time.
