I just had a look around andWSS sells the 7722 from $769 to $869 depending on model. Hard for me to imagine that a Ruger would be so much better in quality to carry that price tag. If WSS is selling them for that much then small shops would probably have to sell them for around a grand. The CZ would have been my choice then anyways. Does not seem to be carried by many-checked 5 sites and WSS was the only one of those that listed any 7722. Guess I made the right choice the first time. Still my 77MKII is around $800. The mind boggles. Looks like they are pricing themselves out of the market. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a frigin 22 it would be an Anschutz not a Ruger.

CZ 453.

Ruger is loved by those who hold them dear and disliked by those whom have shot other .22's and have seen the difference.

Your always going to rage a debate such as this.

It's a classic "Ford vs Chevy" thing.

I had a top of the line 10/22 with Volquartson parts and all the bells and whistles. Had 3 crappy barrels, worst customer service ever and was happy to see it go. My buddy who bought it and switched out the barrel and parted with it as well.

I have another buddy who swears his target is the best ever, and it shoots sweet I must admit.

I put 20 different brands of .22 ammo through my 453 and narrowed it down to the most accurate rounds the gun likes.

Nice rifle, kills everything I point it at and I would recommend as a 10 out of 10.

Butler creek mags lick as well.

I prefer 10 awesome placed shots as opposed to 30 (minus the stoppages) nice shots, any day!!!

Good luck, lots of good info here.

how is this relevant?
the Ruger 10/22 and 77/22 have absolutely nothing in common.

Both are really nice rifles. Ive shot both and would take either. As far as I was concerned, on paper targets, both were equal. If both rifles were the same price, I would take the Ruger. But they are not, so you have to decide which fits you better and if its worth the 200 bucks more for the Ruger.

Well, here's a few pics of the new plinker.

I've put around 150 shots through it so far.... and it functions flawlessly. There is absolutely no comparison to savage and the likes function wise, but accuracy is close. I feel though that there are none of the magazine frustrations I've had with bolt 22's of the past, and that can wreck a day of shooting.

Anyway, the whole package works very nicely, and almost justify's the price tag. :runaway:

Oh ya, like has been said about the quads before...... this one's a keeper.
