Hey,

Perhaps this isn't the perfect place to put the thread... and if a mod thinks it isn't feel free to move it. But as far as I am concerned an Atlas Bi-Pod is concidered for Precision Rifles?

Anyway I was wondering if they are available in Canada? If so does anyone have one? If so what has been your experience with it? Have you had any experiences with other brands like Harris/GG&G/Versa/Etc? If so how would you say it compares, if at all?

Thanks,
- Koshy

I don't have one yet but will definitely be getting one to replace my Harris HBMRS. The only problem is I have to drill my McMillan A5 stock in order to put the little rail on to mount it :(
Not pleased.

Yea... I'm questioning what my options are going to be... I have a UIT (Anchutz) rail on the bottom of my stock, and a spigot sticking out the end of the stock... but the thing is the spigot is built into the rifle (possibly can be removed?) so I don't know if the Spigot version of the Atlas will work as it appears to have the Spigot built onto the Atlas (For the AICS/AW Rifles)...

Have to wait until SHOT SHOW is over in a week and call and see what my options are ;)

Thanks,

I have one as well as an accushot monopod.

one of the best purchases I've made for my rifle.

They are vastly superior to both harris and versapod bipods

Kasey Beltz, the owner of BT Industries is a fantastic individual and his customer service is fantastic. He is one of the few gun related guys that are actually personable to deal with. When I called him to order my monopod we chatted for over an hour.

I'm in the process of putting together a custom build and I'll be putting an atlas on that one too

Wolverine stocks them but I went straight from the source and dealt with Kasey the guy who makes them.

Looks sooo nice, thanks for the information! BTW they are extremely light too! I just hope I can mount it =( But I will call Kasey once shot is over :p

I have one and it is the best bipod you can get. Also Kasey is a great guy to deal with. It is nice dealing with the owner of a company especially when he listens.

Kasey is also a big fan of the Canadian Military and has a great amount of respect for our Snipers especially.

Not something you hear very often from American manufacturers.

You'd be surprised actually.

The yanks seem to know more about our snipers than we do....Our snipers saving American lives is what you will hear. "They can shoot like hell" is the other.

Our government's moral support of our troops is pathetic btw.

It is stiffer, sturdier, has more options for deployment fwd/rear folded, straight down deployed and 45 degree deployed for shooting down or to lower the height below the leg extension.

It also has a fluid cant AND tilt together on an adjustable ball joint. It is easier to extend and retract the legs as well as fold them. It also has a slicker profile than the harris which has all the springs and mounting stuff on it, etc.

The only drawback for some is the requirement for a rail, which you can only put on if you have two fwd swivel studs, which I had so I just got a rail that attaches using those.

You can also get a spigot version that uses the AICS system or the versapod style quick release adapter.

You can load it much easier, the rubber feet get better traction on concrete, and using the rail mount, it is alot stronger then going with a stud. Also with it being much smaller the the harris it fits into my bag better.

I am happy with my Harris on my A-5, I'd be ####ed if I start drilling my stock to put a bipod on when I am happpy with the Harris. I actually like the bipod on my TRG 22 better. Thats just me.

They do have a versapod style quick release adapter? Awesome!

Less hard surface jump, if any at all... also lighter then a Harris or a Versa, by quite a bit like half a pound.

Well, it sounds like this is something i will need to check out!

About time someone made a bi-pod that trumps the Harris. I always felt the Harris was not all that good. I have a couple of Harris bi-pods and always worried it was by far the weakest component on my rig. Never been truly happy with them.
