hey out there, does anyone have knowledge on a few of the manufacturers out there? Mainly Stag, Armalite, Bushmaster, DPMS. I'm researching for a build, and am looking for a little unbiased or biased opinions on these manu's, for the lower reciever right now.

Lowers are pretty much all OK, that said, since they're all pretty inexpensive too you may as well get a brand name one. Definitely get a decent lower parts kit though, that way you can put it together once and not have to strip your lower to return the LPK. Incidently, assembling a lower really is as easy as it looks.

thanks enefge, so any of those manufactures I listed would be ok to go with? I'm somewhat familiar with DPMS, BM, Stag, but Armalite came up in my research and I am unfamiliar with them, I understand they sold the rights to Colt for the M16, "back in the day".
 
The current version of Armalite is quite different from the original (the original was owned by Fairchild - the aircraft company). I have an Armalite lower and it's really nice, assembled very easily using a Stag LPK. That said, there are tons of brands out there that offer good quality, if you shop around a little (check the top of the page) you'll have no trouble finding a solid lower at a great price, as far as LPK's go I'd stick with Stag, Armalite or RRA (Rock River Arms), I've heard conflicting stories regarding the DPMS LPK.
 
There are many choices here in Canada now - Armalite, Bushmaster, DPMS, Stag, Spikes Tactical, Aero Precesion, RRA, ATR, etc... . All these lowers are good choices. Again, as stated above, a good LPK is as important as the manufacturer of the lower. Stag seem to make good kit. I have used a DPMS LPK, and it was fine. The last lower I built, I used a Bushmaster LPK, and the bolt catch was out of spec...so, I guess even the good ones can have issues as well.
 
I've got one now - no difference from my Stag or Armalite lowers. Their logo looks better than some of the other brands...but otherwise, I would say it is on par with the major brands. AR15.com has some really good reviews regarding this company.
 
Of Stag Armalite and RRA which is the best LPK?
and what trigger would you recomend for a match grade build? Looking at timney 3lb and rock river arms 2 stage.

I was wondering the same question
I want to built a Precision AR , there was a few upper in the past week , I didnt bought them cause I couldnt make a decision about lower.

if 200 yards SUB MOA is what Im looking for does the upper and lower need to be same Brand ?

All name brand lowers are good, they're all mil-spec, and they're all made of the same material. The only thing thats realistically different is the logo stamped on it...

Pick one that looks the best to you, ie: Stag Arms has a Buck on the side, Spikes Tactical has a Spider on the side, etc. etc.

The point is you cant go wrong with either...

FWIW: We won't have more Stag lower receivers till late Feb.

Lower Parts kits are in stock though. They're so good I notice people using pics of Stag Arms LPKs to sell other brands. :)

Stag LPKs may cost more than some brands, but they are half as expensive as the Colt LPK which is identical part for part, bar the safety selector, which I assume Colt manufactures or sources elsewhere. CMT has been making milspec fire control parts for decades. We've only had good reviews so far.
