I am hosting another friendly competition shoot out to a mile.
I have invited 12 shooters, the majority are from this forum, to come out to my private range to shoot out to a mile.
In previous shoots I've hosted, there were 12 shooters who have reached out to 1200 yards, 4 shooters who have reached out to 1422 yards and 4 shooters who have reached out to 1500 yards. I hope to add names to all three of these lists as well as the 1760 yard list. I will add pictures with hits, after the shoot.
I hope the weather holds!

Is your invite list fairly exclusive?(hint, hint). Beaver county is awful close to Wainwright (ahem),

Just saying, that's all (nudge, wink)

Hakx

stevesummit said it, a big thanks to Hugh for all his hard work and dedication to set up such a great event. Not to many places in Alberta to shoot this kind of distance. Can't wait. So Steve want to place a friendly wager on the first to ring that 1760 gong.lol

After some testing last Saturday I put out larger 1500 yard and 1 mile targets. If the fog ever lifts I might try and mark the newly installed targets.
My 3000 fps bullet drops 1390 inches at 1800 yards. WOW
My 2880 fps bullet drops 1661 inches at 1800 yards.
In my testing, I am going after the 1760 yard target again today, in the low 5km wind, if the fog ever lifts!! The wind has already increased to 7kms.
I'll keep you posted.
Late breaking news "The mile target is still safe" 10 - 15 km winds / ice fog, couldn't see impacts! Gave up and went home.

Ahwwwww, you mean I get to miss shooting with Mutt again. He's like a little teddy bear.....all fuzzy and cuddly. Yes, they sure are cute at that age.

I hope you guys don't have the quasi-nuclear winds we had last Saturday........:ar15:.

well i got 53 moa base on the 6.5 so i hope that should carry me out there and to be fair i think your gonna ring it first your pda and 7mm has a little more drive then me loobing rounds into the dirt i know its out past my skill level lol

My bet is on Hugh. He already told me that if he didn't hit it today he was just going to drive up to the target tomorrow and drill a couple holes into it at 100 yards.....:D.

You guys should have a bet to see who can hit it in the first 5 rounds. If there's no wind on Saturday and it's not snowing I think that poor 1760 is gonna take a beating. Good thing old Hughie is a welder.

Don't bet with Skinny.. he still owes me $100 from the DV shoot..LOL... I mean I didn't want it to be real obvious I missed on purpose, right Skinny..LOL
