1 Mile Time Again Pics up

A bigger 1500 yd target?.....Thats cheating Hugh.....we had to hit the small one to get our names on the barn wall.....
Just sayin'.....:runaway::D

That's ok you couldn't see the new 1500 yard target(3'X3') yesterday, from the barn, till 3 in the afternoon. Still didn't see the mile target. After the wind went from 5 kms to 14, I finally got to do some testing.
This morning the wind is blowing 15 gusting to 20 kms.
The mile target is 4'X5' with one of my 8' high christmas trees beside it.
1 mile is going to be tough in the higher winds.
DMay I will write the new names on the wall in smaller print! OK. If there are any to write!!!

You should know better by now not to try to outdo me.

I think we should get you to not shave for a week. Buy you a set of those big fake teeth and enroll your fat a$$ in herbal magic for a month and we can start calling you "Chaka" like the little freaky caveman in the "land of the lost" movie!!

Bring your snow goggles!! Might have to punch one of the windows out of the side of the barn so we won't be facing into the north wind.

The snow tried to cloak over everything but we prevailed. 1 mile target pics, with Mutt's, 1/2 MOA, Deadshot, Sdeviation, Randy and my hits!!
The pic below is all 338 impacts.

There is 3 hits on the 1 mile target here, 1 - 338 edge and 2 - 6.5-284 Lapua, one is on the bottom edge. Notice the difference in impact size. I'll get a better pic in the daylight.

There was a bunch of smiling faces at the long range today. So whats next 2000 yards?( I think I've found a piece of plate to put out at that distance) Gonna need more up!
I don't know about the rest of you but I'll probably be smiling :dancingbanana:all night long. Anybody else taste burnt gunpowder?

thanks to tigrr, for putting on the shoot.
thanks to stevesummit for the heat ,i dont think i woulda made it ...lol

Hey guys, i'm a handgunner so rifles are not my forte but every once in a while i like to take out the 300WINMAG and and make a big bang. What power optics would you suggest for 1 Mile + shooting?

Thanks.

The one mile target was 4 feet wide and 5 feet high. In my opinion - the NightForce NXS scopes that had the 8 - 32 X 56 were the easiest to see hits on steel with. I could see hits with my NightForce NXS 5.5 - 22 X 56 if they were made by a 338 cal bullet. I could not see my 6.5-284 hits till I drove out to the target. Then you start installing a 40 MOA base min for a 300 to reach out to a mile, 50 MOA base if you plan on going farther.

THANX hugh for a great day of shooting and all the hard work u put into setup. it was great to shoot the sh!t with everyone. PS i hope my name is on the top of the wall for the one mile club. now i just have to make it into the mile high club
