How much Unique for 9mm 124JHP?

must be one of them new "lawyerized " reloading books- my speers no 11 says 5,9 top end, 5,5 starting

see what i mean about "lawyerizing"= i bet if you go back you'll find "hotter"
loads yet

i will tell you this- 124 grain round nose and 4.6 of 231 makes my uzi short stroke- doesn't push it back far enough to engage the sear

"...whats the max on this?..." Stop loading until you get a manual.
My old Lyman book gives 4.8(891 fps) to 5.8(1149 fps) of Unique for a 124 grain jacketed bullet. Gives 5.5(1096 fps) as the accuracy and factory duplication load.
Alliant gives 5.8(1180 fps) as the max load on their site too. The velocity discrepancy has to to with the age of my manual and different testing conditions.

I`ve just loaded up three hundred 9mm, 124 grain bullet with 4.1 of unique, very accurate and the S&W semi functioned flawlessly.

my modern reloading book 2nd edition doens't have a listing for unique for 124. HOwever it does for 125 jacketed with beginning at 4.8 which is what I set the 124 at. so was wondering if this was a good load. first time using unique. usually use h26

I have the same problem whit the TiteGroup powder.

On the bottle it say 4.8g as an average load for 115g FMJ 9mm. On their web site they say 4.6g is the max load for the same bullet specs.

I put 4.4g to start whit.

This is not funny to see big differences between charts like that.

4.6 to 4.8 is not a big difference. I've found starting loads in certain manuals exceed the max loads in others. Just part of the game.
