lets see your Norincos

False info. If that were true, how would all these people be modding their Norincos??
Anything made by Colt, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom, STI, and a bunch of other REGISTERED companies I can't think of right now, can all be imported into Canada, in fact with air shipping you'll have it in a few days, just keep it under 100 bucks.. The list is posted somewhere around CGN.

Its the norincos that can not be imported to the states. I get quite a bit of stuff from brownells but I do not think Canada makes up the majority of their business, given that all order of gun parts must be under 100$ to avoid an export permit, and many of their manufactureres are not licensed to export, so brownells is not allowed to sell their products. Plus limitations imposed by our own governement. So no my info is not false. Your interpretation is different than my intended message.

repost of my old thread

I got a bunch of grips for the project, stuff from VZ and stuff from Ed at Wicked Grips, heres some of the grips,

Currently the gun is wearing the pink grips, they look much nicer than the picture, but my camera is crappy.

I had the following parts added,

STI Ambi safety
STI rear site
Custom red fibre optic front site
Mercury Guide Rod
Checkering on front strap
SA Checked Mainspring housing
STI beavertail- pinned
Afteck extractor
Chrome bead blast finish
New pins
STI hammer
STI trigger ~3lbs
SA Magwell
Ed Brown Magazines
Wicked Grips

Work was performed by Rodger Kotanko

I've seen this one in that "Pink guns/grips" thread a while back... still say that thing is DAMNED ###y :D

And Dirtyclean, I likey... the comp isn't exactly my kind of thing, but it probably helps a bit eh? How much and where (if you don't mind us asking )

Pic of an older Norinco 1911A1 that I recently scored off the EE.

Grips are rosewood double diamonds acquired from another CGN'er...

I will admit that not every Norinco is perfect. But if you get one from Armco, you will get a good one. And the 1911 that Gunnar tunes is the best pistol for the money anywhere.

You are certainly missing a bet if you do not have a Norinco 1911.

Mr. Squinty

Thanks Squinty ... you just helped me decide to get one. Something with a bit more "oomph" than my S&W .22A.

Very Nice!
Too bad I don't sell nickel or SS comps for the tokarev.

here are a couple of mine (both are great shooters !), the first is an NP-40 (CZ 85 clone in .40 cal that i use to shoot SSP division in IDPA), the other is an older 1911 gov't .45

Glad you like it.

My wife can't believe that I would spend so much time making a gun 'pretty'.
I had nothing else to do with it while I was hunting for, then waiting for a new extractor. They're hard to come by for this toy. I have one coming from Gunnar now as a spare but managed to find one in Texas!

I know what you mean Morley. I keep trying to convince my wife that guns are "cute" but she doesn't believe me. I just ordered a 1911 .45 from Gunnar too which will be fun to take to the range eventually. (Still waiting for ATT but it's only been a month since Club course, so who knows how long it will be?)

What exactly do you mean? You have your memberhsip card for your range, correct? I don't know why you're waiting for an ATT. On my first pistol, I went online, printed off the forms, and brought them to the firearms office. I left there with my ATT. If you have mailed it, thus are waiting, you should give them a call to check on the progress of things. It just may speed things up.

I was referring to the LT-ATT. I had the ATT to take the gun home the next day after purchase but in order to move it from your residence, I understand that you need the LTATT. The club you belong to sends that in after you do the club-level course. We were told during the course that we could expect a 4-6 week wait for that piece of paper. I'ts been 5 now so it shouldn't be too much longer. Must be time to buy a new gun to celebrrate. :)
