You will be an inch closer or further to your target, depending on the point of view :D But seriously the difference will be hardly noticeable to normal human preception.

I just asking before I deside on a new barrel kit, I'm finding it hard to get an 11.5" barrel kit, But have seen more 10.5" kits. right now it looks like Questar has the best price on this. still waiting on a few other replies on emails sent. anyone else have a line on a new barrel kit.

I have a new upper receiver, just need the 11.5" or 10.5" with 1/9 twist or faster chrome lined barrel, Delta ring assembly, handguard cap and front sight housing, Bayonet lug, gas tube and pin.

11.5" guns have more dwell prior to the pressure dropping when the bullet exits the barrel.
Generally 11.5" guns are more reliable than 10.3" or 10.5" guns, all esle being equal.
(I am basing this off Colts I have tested)

I have no experience with Questar barrel - but other than that, BCM, colt and KAC are the only reputable manufacturers/suppliers of 11.5", which are not easily obtainable in Canada by large. Reliable and high quality 10.5" is much easier to have in Canada - LMT, or N8.

Don't forget about Sabre Defence Industries. They make very nice barrels. My carbine is 60% SDI, which includes lower receiver and 29.2cm HSS barrel w/ 1:7 twist.

The old XM177s, after the CAR-15 "trials", were later made with 11.5" barrels (CAR-15 originally having 10") so you'd figure that through field tested research that that is what they figured would be the optimal short barrel length.

looks like my choices right now, and the for my budget that I have it's DPMS, RRA, or Questar's 11.5" barrel no responce from Dlask. haven't seen much reviews on Questar barrels. any thoughts on these 3 barrels?
