11.5" guns have more dwell prior to the pressure dropping when the bullet exits the barrel.
Generally 11.5" guns are more reliable than 10.3" or 10.5" guns, all esle being equal.
(I am basing this off Colts I have tested)

we have dpms 11.5" heavy barrels in stock. These are chrome lined, 1:9 and come with the a2 front sight and barrel nut. Price is $300.
Don't forget about Sabre Defence Industries. They make very nice barrels. My carbine is 60% SDI, which includes lower receiver and 29.2cm HSS barrel w/ 1:7 twist.I have no experience with Questar barrel - but other than that, BCM, colt and KAC are the only reputable manufacturers/suppliers of 11.5", which are not easily obtainable in Canada by large. .
