mini-14 target stock Q

I've got a mini-14 Target on the way with the laminated stock, but I'd like a lighter, conventional style synthetic stock for hunting with it. Can anyone confirm if the mini-14 target takes standard mini-14 stocks, or does the target version require a special stock?

Same stock but honestly, for hunting, I would go with a standard mini 14, 2 1/2 pounds lighter makes a difference.
