What do you like & dislike about it?? Can you compare it to a .222 or .223 .
Are brass & bullets more expensive than say .223 or harder to find.
Just trying to find some info. on whether or not it would be a good replacement for a .223.

thanks

Brass and bullets are somewhat harder to find. They explode gophers quite nicely. barrel fouls much slower that a .17 Remington and is somewhat easier to clean. on gophers the only limiting factor on range would be cross winds. I liked mine quite well but in the end stayed with the .221 fireball.

I 'sploded many a gopher with a 17 rem. , but not a fireball. I do know that the higher velocities make for some nice acrobatics, but loading for and owning a 17 can be a pain in the arse. Not just the dies, but you need to find cleaning rods, powder funnels, etc.

Once you have it all, it is fun as hell though:D

I just put a down payment on a Cooper in 17 Fireball today. I've wanted a rifle in this caliber for a quite a while now and decided to take the plunge. From what I've read fouling won't be much of a problem and I'll use my Patch Worm instead of a rod. Some guy on another forum said you can get around 400 rounds out of a pound of powder so that's pretty cheap shooting. I'm really looking forward to getting it. Here's the test target they come with which is 3 shots at 50 yards. Most small bores make decent test targets from what I've heard.

I keep hearing about the 17 remington fouling so bad yet mine can shoot all day without cleaning it and it never fouls IDK maybe I got lucky with mine
