I had a bunch of stuff to order to restore my Bubba'd 1917 BSA SMLE, and, as an afterthought, I saw that they were selling original VietNam era USGI brown fiberglass M14 stocks for only $18! I added one on to my list of parts, but was told that this particular item was not for sale outside of the US of A... Apparently, this type of rifle is classed as an Assault Weapon, and any parts for it will not be exported to other countries. I tried to explain that I own a Norinco 305S semi auto rifle, but, well you know....:kickInTheNuts:
Ridiculous!

I didn't know the rules changed. I bought multiple stocks for my M305 (M14S) from Numrich years ago without a hitch. Fred's never delivered (it was always being mailed next week).

I should have bought dozens. :-(

Years ago being being before 9/11?

It's not just Numrich on this one. Canada actually prohibits the import of usgi M14 stocks. If they are made for a m1a they are fine. If they are made for an M14 they cannot be imported. I had a lengthy discussion with a person at excol about this last year. I told him all about the m305 and m14S, it doesn't matter.

I have had many import permits approved for M1A/M14 stocks within the last 2 years ,still have them on file if you would like to see/use to prove to the person at EXCOL that they indeed have been approved

Yeah I know what you mean I ordered some slings, garand parts, an m2 m14 bipod and a vented m14 handguard. I got everything but the handgaurd. A crummy handguard. Canadian gun laws suck sh**!
