sig226 rimfire accuracy

Im going to buy a new rimfire but can't decide between a sig or kimber.I want a gun that will group well at 25 yards.(gopher range)The kimber is 400.00 more than the sig but if it shoots signifigantly better then thats what i should probably go for.I assume both would be reliable.I even thought about cheaping out and going for a gsg 22. from blueline when they come in but it seems like such a gamble.Does anyone have experince with the sig as far as accuracy.Thanks in advance.
 
I'm not a great shot @ 25 yards and haven't tried shooting from a rest. Lets say @ 25 yards I group ~5 inch with my 9mm P226. With the P226 Classic 22lr, I hit a 12x12 cardboard at same distance:)

I only shoot cheap bulk ammo though, I never tried Minimags or better ammunition as it's pretty scarse where I am.

I group pretty well @ 10 yards though; Like I said, I'm not a great shot @ 25 yards yet :p
 
You'd probably be more accurate with a Buckmark, Ruger or a gun with a front sight fixed to the barrel. ;) but between the 2 you listed 1911 should be more accurate IMO.
 
I tried to save money and dop not buy good 22, but it did not work

At least you guys are lucky. In my club, I can shoot just 50 yeards and I will tell you this gun is not for target shooting. I had conversion kit for Glock - no good groups. Got Sig - the same problems. These guns good just as training tools for the same name bigger caliber. If you need target gun do not buy conversion kits or 22 from SIG. Just my opinion
 
Thanks everyone.I have a ruger mark 1 bicentenial model but i have never cared for the style much.I guess i should go with the kimber.I have always wanted a 1911 style pistol but the price on the kimbers makes me shudder.I liked the look and feel of the sig but if its not gonna do the job then i better pass.
 
why not get a 9mm then? .22 does get kinda borning esp in an ugly gun like a Ruger. but .22 is still a .22 at least if you get the SIg you can get a 9mm upper for it later

Well i have a 9 and will be upgrading it also.My guns have sat idle for the past 17 years but i suddenly want to get back in it.The 22. hopefully will see some use in the back 40 where i may not be wearing ear protection,which is also why i need it to be accurate.I will get an instant headache shooting a 9 without hearing protection.As for conversion kits, some guys are happy with them but it seems a lot are dissapointed.This is my last go around before old age sets in and i just want to buy the right gun so i dont end up full of regrets.I was unable to find any real reviews of the sig rimfire as far as accuracy so im being cautious.
