anyone have any info on these and where a guy can find one?

PS i tried using the search function and found nada...so if this has been covered before go ahead and just link the thread (and maybe try and teach me how to use the damn search function on this site!)

The Mark AR scopes are for the most part just re-modelled Mark 2 scopes. The Mark 2 part numbers are now discontinued and replaced by Mark AR. We will be ordering these and prices should be the same (or slightly lower) than the Mark 2's. Phil.

these scopes are marketed down south at the same or comparable price point as a VX-II. Heres hoping the same happens for us up here.

any idea on ETA?

i know you cant give me a date and time but....2 months? 6 months? a year?

If other options don't work out you could try Ellwood Epps in Ontario....they gave me a price/ETA on the 3-9x40's I was interested in.

this is what they gave me.......

67165 Leupold Mark AR riflescope, 3-9x 40mm, Duplex reticle $402.00
67160 Leupold Mark AR riflescope, 3-9x 40mm, Mil-Dot reticle $469.20

good luck

export regulations say that is a no-no
That is not true. This is a copy from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, who regulate the shipping of firearms and firearm parts out of the country. Many dealers would lead you to believe that permits and paperwork is required when purchasing a scope ou of country but that is false. You can go to there web page and check Chapter 11. This is a copy.
11.1.2 Firearms and firearm component parts subject to the AECA. As stated in Section 11.1,
firearms and component parts of firearms are included in Categories I and II of the U.S. Munitions List.
11.1.2.1 Category I. Category I covers nonautomatic and semi-automatic firearms to caliber .50
inclusive (12.7 mm), as well as fully automatic firearms to .50 caliber inclusive. This category also
covers silencers, mufflers, sound and flash suppressors, and rifle scopes manufactured to military
specifications. Excluded from Category I are non-combat shotguns with barrel lengths of 18 inches
or longer. In other words, sporting shotguns not subject to the NFA are not defense articles subject
to State Department export controls. Category I also covers components, parts, accessories and
attachments for firearms. However, it excludes rifle scopes and sighting devices not manufactured
to military specifications, as well as accessories and attachments (for example, belts, slings, after
market rubber grips, cleaning kits) for firearms that do not enhance the usefulness, effectiveness, or
capabilities of the firearm, components, and parts
. The Department of Commerce regulates the
export of firearms and parts not covered by Category I.

I also ourchased two other Leupolds out of the US last year. On Aug 11, I purchased a VAR II (Model 56780) 3X9x40 with a Duplex reticle for $207.61 plus our taxes. The other was a Leupold VAR II ( model 57040) with the micrometer adjustment, adjustable objective and duplex reticle that was a 6 x 18 x40 for $522.36 Canadian plus our taxes.

These were all shipped by United States Postal Service (never use Fedex or UPS) cleared through customs and arrived by Canada Post. Canada Post will have a $5.00 processing fee and collect our taxes.
