What 22WMR is good for? Other than dispatching varmints? Will there be much left of a bunny or a grouse if I hit them anywhere else other than their heads?
I recently acquired very low priced 597 in 22WMR basically for salvaging a receiver from it, but then decided to try keep magnum chambering and seee if I like it. I sure do like it, but I don't know what to do with it. Ammo too expensive for informal target shooting and seems like too much gun
for grouse. Maybe there is some soft-point/round-nose/heavy bullet ammo for this kind of shooting. Your thoughts people.
Or maybe I should go a little further and obtain 17HMR barrel for it? I will then have all three chamberings available for the same firearm.
