all ive done with mine is put a standard folding stock
and yeah i wanna make it look used

The best way to make it look used is to use it.

How to "weather" a 858.......
1. Step away from key board
2. Buy alot of ammo
3. Get in the truck and drive to the bush
4. Shoot and play untill "weathered"

I took a brand NIB Ruger 10/22 to the range once several years ago and allowed a friend to spend some time on the bench with it. Before I packed it up to go home, I noticed a rather large scratch on the stock that wasn't there prior to him shooting.

So you see, range time does contribute to wear.

Yup, let your "friends" shoot it a bit.. my guns always seem to come back a little more well used than if I had been shooting them.

Ya, I do my damndest to #### up my friends' #### they let me use. They keep on giving me their stuff, so they apparently don't mind

So you're scared they're going to make fun of you? I think you'll find that in most places where everyone is armed that conversation tends to be very polite and that requests to "f#$k-off" are taken seriously.

I suggest hunting. Nothing puts "miles" on a gun like some serious deep backwoods hunting action.

Tie it up behind a 4x4 and drive fews miles on a gravel road. Will look well used very fast
